The Diego Salazar Foundation is a non-profit organization that was founded on November 30, 2009 in memory of the renowned writer and poet Diego Antonio Salazar Luongo, who spent most of his life fighting for social equality and political leadership.
Diego Salazar raised awareness of pressing concerns among those of us who remember him, and these concerns have led us to design specific actions for positive intervention in social dynamics, especially in relation to the wellbeing of children.
Childhood is the most important developmental stage for humans, and the experiences of children are fundamental for their later development. The Diego Salazar Foundation seeks to improve the care and quality of life of children who lack family care.
The Diego Salazar Foundation lends its support to institutions that improve children’s quality of life, and particularly those that are focused on neglected children and those from low-income families. Our aim is to ensure that as many children as possible have the right conditions and resources to grow in a healthy way, not just in a physical sense, but also intellectually.
